ELC- An Assistant Coach's Perspective: David Hansell

The NIU ELC team has been tasked with analyzing the marketing strategy of the center from all levels. Because of some of the issues surrounding the attraction of Client sponsors to the center and the continuing need to always recruit the best students with quick turnover, the team's challenges are great. The team has done some great things and learned a lot along the way.

The team has been able to:
  • learn from ELC alumni and leverage their real-world experience to analyze how the ELC experience affects them long-term (it has a very positive effect!),
  • gain insight into the inner workings of many corporations that have been and have not been project sponsors, and
  • learn how to manage six team members on a task that is ambiguous and constantly changing.
This team has worked together extremely well thus far into the semester and has already seen great success stem from their hard work. As the semester quickly ticks away it will be exhilarating and exciting to see what great ideas and recommendations are offered to our unique client and what great lessons the team is able to take away from the semester.
